Palladio and His Legacy: A Transatlantic Journey

Palladio and His Legacy: A Transatlantic Journey features thirty-one original Palladio drawings from the Royal Institute of British Architects. These exquisite drawings will be on view to the public for the first time in over thirty years, and are being presented with rare architectural texts to illustrate the journey from Italy to North America of Palladio's design principles.
The exhibition runs from April 2 to August 1, 2010 in New York.

Philips DayWave introduces breakthrough design for LED office lighting

Philips has announced the commercial release of its breakthrough design luminaire DayWave - the world's first LED-enabled dynamic lighting fixture for general office lighting.
In contrast to standard office luminaires DayWave has a graceful, curving design language all of its own. It comes in two versions: one that arches up in the middle and another that arches down. When hung next to each other - a likely scenario in large open indoor spaces - they create striking undulating wave forms.

La Biennale di Venezia

The 12th Intl. Architecture Exhibition, directed by Kazuyo Sejima and titled People Meet in Architecture, will run 29th August to 21st November 2010 at the Giardini and at the Arsenale, and in various other venues in Venice.
After a series of editions of the Architecture Biennale directed by eminent critics and historians, this Sector is once again in the hands of an architect, Kazuyo Sejima. The first woman to direct the Architecture Sector of the Biennale, Sejima has recently been awarded the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize 2010 (together with Ryue Nishizawa).

Danish Architecture Centre
